Hampshire police probe historic child abuse in '˜football community'
DETECTIVES have confirmed they are investigating historic child abuse in the '˜football community'.
Officers working under Hampshire Constabulary’s Operation Marmion are leading the probe.
The abuse dates back to the 1980s, it has been reported.
It comes after a number of ex-professional footballers said they were sexually abused.

Hide AdA force spokesman said: ‘Hampshire Constabulary’s Operation Marmion is investigating allegations of non-recent child abuse within the football community.
‘For operational reasons, we cannot disclose any further details.’
