POLICE have charged a man with damaging the wing mirrors of two parked cars.

Andrew Hawley, of Swanmore Road, Havant, is alleged to have damaged a wing mirror on a Nissan Almera and Ford Focus.

The 23-year-old is also accused of scratching the paint work of the Focus, causing £100 worth of damage.

Both cars were parked in St Denys Walk, Havant, close to where the defendant lives, when they were vandalised on October 9.

Hawley pleaded not guilty to two charges of criminal damage when he appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court.

He was released on unconditional bail until February 1 when he is due back before the magistrates for a trial.

The trial is expected to last one day.
