A PENSIONER who stole a cooked chicken from Marks and Spencer has been given a six-month conditional discharge.

Benjamin Harding took the chicken, worth £5.50, from the store in Commercial Road, Portsmouth.

Harding, of Rockbourne Close, Havant, pleaded guilty to theft when he appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court. He was told to pay £55 in court costs.
