Hayling drink-driver is caught

A DRINK-DRIVER admitted being behind the wheel while twice the legal alcohol limit.

Martin Whitbread, 55, of Copse Lane, Hayling Island, committed the offence in the same street on August 17.

His breath contained 81 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres. The legal limit is 35mcg.

He was fined £800 and must pay an £80 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

He was banned from driving for two years by Portsmouth magistrates.
