DRIVER Andrew Ashcroft was caught behind the wheel while more than twice the legal alcohol limit.

Ashcroft, 50, of Southwood Road, Hayling Island, admitted driving a Lexus Soarer on the A3M at Farlington after drinking too much on March 4.

A test revealed his breath contained 75 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres.

The legal limit is 35mg.

Ashcroft was fined £110 and told to pay £15 to a fund for crime victims and £85 costs by Portsmouth magistrates.

He was banned from driving for 18 months.
