Hayling Island man left with head injuries after car park assault

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was left with head injuries after being attacked in a Hayling Island car park.

The man, in his 20s, was assaulted in the Hayling Beach car park opposite Chichester Avenue after an argument with another man who was also in his 20s.

The incident took place between 9pm and 9.30pm and the man had to be taken to hospital for treatment.

Officers investigating the exact circumstances of the incident are keen to speak with anyone who witnessed the assault. A number of vehicles were in the car park at the time and the police would particularly like to speak to anyone who may have dash cam footage.

A 28-year-old man, from Hayling Island has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and has been released on bail.
