Heavy police response to '˜assault' at Portsmouth pub
REPORTS of an assault at a pub sparked a police response.
An argument spilled outside of the Star and Garter pub in Copnor Road, Portsmouth, on Friday, The News understands.
A Hampshire police spokeswoman said: ‘We were called to an assault at the Star and Garter pub on Copnor Road, Portsmouth, just after 11.15pm on Friday, June 24.
‘On police arrival no assault was in progress and no complaints were made.’
Officers will be talking to the licensee.
