POLICE last night sent out a helicopter to search for a man who fled after he was spotted laying on someone’s conservatory roof.

A passer-by raised the alarm after they saw the man make a run for it from the property in Eastney at about 8pm. A helicopter flew above Dunbar Road and surrounding roads for half an hour. The aircraft stopped its search after failing to find him. The incident comes after someone attempted to break into a house in the area the night before.

Police say the two incidents are not connected.
