DETECTIVES need more help piecing together the movements of a man who was seriously injured.

Surrey Police said the man, in his 50s, was seen on a train between Havant and Haslemere between 6am and midday on Friday. Officers from Hampshire police had taken him to Havant train station after picking him up from junction 12 of the M27 on the hard shoulder.

At that time he was fit and well, Hampshire police said.

Now a detective wants more information about what happened to the man, who is in a serious but stable condition at St George’s Hospital in Tooting.

Detective Constable Caroline Katryniak said: ‘We still have some gaps regarding his whereabouts, in particular between 10pm and 11.30pm on Thursday, August 6 and between 5am and 6am on Friday. I would urge anyone with any information to call Surrey Police on 101 quoting reference 45150069838.’
