BURGLARS escaped with only a tin of tobacco after trying to break into a house.

Between 5pm and 6.30pm on Friday, thieves forced open the door of a garden shed and the door to a utility room at a house in Leonard Road, Gosport.

They then tried to force open the rear door of the house itself, but failed. A tobacco tin was stolen.

Incident summary Offender(s) have gained entry into the garden of a property in the street. They have forced open the garden shed and forced another door entering the utility room. They have attempted to gain entry to the house itself by forcing a rear door, but have failed.

A tobacco tin was stolen during the burglary, but nothing else was taken.
