DETECTIVES reviewing historic child sexual exploitation in the county have identified 20 suspects.

Hampshire Constabulary’s Operation Marmion was launched at the start of the year to review cases and after police and crime commissioner Simon Hayes asked for a review between 1997 and 2013.

Detective Chief Superintendent Dick Pearson said 45 cases are being looked at with 24 investigations ongoing and 20 suspects identified.

It comes as a 74-year-old Southampton man was arrested regarding abuse of young boys in 1970s and 1980s.

Separately, four others arrests have been made and one man charged. Call 101 to report abuse.
