Home Office reveals nationalities of 28 illegal immigrants found in Portsmouth

Home Office officials have revealed the nationalities of the 28 illegal immigrants found on a lorry in Portsmouth.

It follows calls from Portsmouth South MP Flick Drummond for better security at Portsmouth International Port after the group of migrants made their way in to the city on a HGV from France on Saturday.

The 28 people were arrested by police at the scene.

The Home Office says 10 are Sudanese, seven Ethiopian and 11 Eritrean nationals.

Their cases will now be dealt with by immigration officers.
