Drug dealer accused of shooting rival tells jury: ‘Violence is not my way’

POLICE are investigating after workmen digging at a school found human bones.

Construction teams who are building a new sports hall at Harbour School, Tipner Lane, Tipner, stopped work when the remains were discoverefd at 10.20am today.

Police say the remains have been confirmed as human but they do not know how long they have been buried at the site.

The area has been closed off to allow detectives to investigate.

Acting Inspector James Stewart, based at Southsea police station, said: ‘While they were digging on the site for the development for the school, there have been bones of some description which have been discovered.

‘Police were called at 10.33am and they are trying to ascertain whether the bones are human or not.

‘A crime scene manager and crime scene investigator are at the scene investigating, which is standard procedure for any discovery like this. Police will remain on the site to protect the integrity of the area.’
