THIEVES stole a £1,500 mountain bike after breaking into a garage while the owner was on holiday.

The 39-year-old victim’s Kona Kula bike was seized from the property in Castle Avenue, Warblington.

Now police have released this image of the bike – which was stolen between midnight and 2.30am on April 13.

PC Chris Wimshurst said: ‘We are working hard with both high visibility patrols and also some unmarked ones in the area to try and catch the offenders. We have had a number of shed and garage breaks over the last month and people need to be aware of this.

‘They are easily stopped by ensuring your garage and out buildings are kept locked and secure. Any high value items such as power tools and pedal cycles can be further protected by a locking them up.’ If you have any information about the theft, call PC Wimshurst on 101.
