Thieves who stole jewellery in a break-in are being hunted by police.

The burglars smashed their way into the property in Titchfield Road, Stubbington, through the back door.

Once inside they ransacked several rooms and stole jewellery between 10.30am and 2.30pm on January 28.

Police have now released images of some of the items taken in the hope they can be traced.

The haul included a black imitation leather jewellery box with a Wallsall jewellers company logo embossed on the lining, as well as the pair of earrings and pearl necklace that are pictured.

PC Mark Barber, from Gosport priority crime team, said: ‘I am keen to hear from anyone who witnessed anything suspicious on this day, particularly any strange or suspicious callers to any addresses in the area.

‘If anyone does experience suspicious callers please do not hesitate to call the police.

‘These offenders need to check if anyone is home and this may give police an early alert to the area.’
