Warning over fears stolen vintage signs worth £1,400 could be sold in Portsmouth

Here is our latest update on cases heard at magistrates’ courts around the area.

- Michael Brooker, 52, of Totland Road, Cosham, admitted obstructing a highway, namely Totland Road.

Magistrates fined him £70 for the May 26 offence.

He must also pay a £20 victim surcharge and a courts charge of £150.

- Gemma Burgess, 24, of Essex Road, Southsea, admitted drink-driving.

She was stopped in Albert Road, Southsea, on May 26 driving a Hyundai Getz.

A test revealed she had 67 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, more than the 35mcg limit.

She was fined £200, told to pay a £20 victim fee, £85 costs and a £150 courts charge.

Magistrates banned her from driving for 18 months.

- Danny Evans, 24, of Wigan Crescent, Havant, admitted assaulting a constable in the execution of her duty.

He was fined £200 for the May 24 offence in Southsea.

He must pay £100 in compensation and a £20 victim surcharge.

Magistrates also ordered him to pay £85 costs and a £150 courts charge.

- Kerri Goring, 38, of Halstead Road, Portsmouth, admitted drink-driving in Military Road, Hilsea, on May 24, driving a Ford Fiesta.

A test revealed she had 65 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, more than the 35mcg limit.

She was banned from driving for 18 months, fined £140 and told to pay a £20 victim surcharge.

Goring must also pay £85 costs and a £150 criminal courts charge.

- Josh Ogunbiyi, 18, of New Road, Portsmouth, admitted three charges of assaulting a constable in the execution of his duty.

Magistrates imposed a community order with 60 hours of unpaid work.

He must pay £20 in compensation and a criminal courts charge of £150.

He committed the offences in Samuel Road, New Road East and at Portsmouth Central Police station, on May 27.

Ogunbiyi also admitted stealing a £1 bag of sweets from a Best One in Fratton Road on the same day.

- Shane Oakes, 30, of Blossom Drive, Waterlooville, was found guilty of using a mobile phone while driving.

He used the phone while driving a Renault in Havant Road, Hayling Island, on June 24.

Magistrates imposed a £200 fine and gave him three points on his licence.

He must pay a £20 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

- Liam Heard, 30, of Anns Hill Road, Gosport, admitted stealing cigarettes and money from Waitrose.

He committed the offence in Gosport between February 5 and May 28.

Magistrates imposed a community order with 60 hours of unpaid work.

He must pay a £60 victim surcharge.
