Injured Gosport baby at centre of police probe dies in hospital
The three-week-old child was rushed to Queen Alexandra Hospital, in Cosham, last Tuesday.
Hampshire police today confirmed the child has since died.
The News understands this happened yesterday.
As reported on Monday, initially police said the child’s condition was serious.

Hide AdTwo people arrested on suspicion of attempted murder remain on bail until later this year.
A spokesman said the child had been admitted after being taken to the hospital from an address in Forton Road, Gosport, on Tuesday.
Detectives are examining the property trying to work out how the child sustained the injury.
A Hampshire police spokesman said: ‘We can confirm that a three-week old baby from Gosport who was admitted to hospital on Tuesday, March 21 has sadly died.

Hide Ad‘Specialist officers have been conducting enquiries at an address on Forton Road for the last week as part of an investigation into how the infant was injured.
‘This investigation is ongoing and a post-mortem will be carried out in due course.
‘A man and a woman aged in their twenties have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder as part of this investigation and have been bailed until late September.’
Police confirmed that no further arrests or re-arrests have been made since the death of the child.
The force has not confirmed the ages of the man and woman arrested.
