A MAN has been found unconscious in a Portsmouth street.

Passers by found an unconscious, injured, man lying face down on the pavement on London Road, Portsmouth at 11.15pm on Sunday September 18.

Hampshire police officers have only just released information on the incident.

Medics who took the 52-year-old to Queen Alexandra Hospital for treatment for injuries to his face, and broken ribs.

Police believe the man had been laid there for about ten minutes before he was found by the passers by.

The man has very little memory and detectives want to clarify the circumstances surrounding his injuries. He is described as, white, heavy build, approximately 5ft 11ins, he has collar length brown hair and was wearing a dark coloured short sleeved shirt with jeans and trainers.

Detective Constable Les Leithes, said: ‘We need to speak to anyone who may have witnessed what happened to this man, or may have seen him walking south on London Road between The Green Post public house and Hewett Road.

‘We would urge anyone with any information to come forward so that we can establish exactly what happened.’
