A JURY has ruled that police officer Steve Rawson died as a result of an accident.

On the final day of the inquest into PC Rawson’s death, the verdict was that he died on April 3 last year at Southampton General Hospital of multiple injuries after a road traffic accident on Thomas Lewis Way, Southampton.

The coroner advised the jury that they could either rule the death as accidental or as a road traffic collision.

PC Rawson, 40, who was based in Fareham, died after his motorbike was involved in a crash with a BMW while on duty.
