POLICE have issued a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to after the theft of a 98-year-old woman’s handbag in Petersfield.

The incident happened at about 10am on Thursday at Waitrose in Rams Walk.

The handbag was stolen from the handle of the victim’s walking frame as she was doing her shopping.

PC Darren Dixon, from the Petersfield Safer Neighbourhoods team, said: ‘Do you recognise the man from the CCTV image?

‘We believe he may be able to assist with our investigation.

‘The victim has been left extremely shaken by this incident and is now scared to go out shopping alone.’
