Isle of Wight police and school to offer support following girl's death

OFFICERS will be working closely with the school of Keziah Flux-Edmonds to ensure teachers and pupils get the support they need following her death.

Police in East Cowes met with the headteacher of Queensgate Primary School Sam Sillito, specialist staff from Isle of Wight Council’s children’s services and Isle of Wight NHS to discuss how best to ensure those affected get the right support.

Everyone at the meeting recognised the community has been left in shock following the deaths of Keziah and her dad, Darren Flux-Edmonds last Wednesday.

Today PCSOs are due to visit Queensgate Foundation Primary School to join Mrs Sillito and her staff to speak to the children and offer any reassurance.

Neighbourhood Inspector Sam Dunlop, who oversees the East Cowes area, said: ‘We know that the events in East Cowes last week have had a massive impact on the community and our thoughts are with Keziah’s mum and the families involved.

‘We are working closely with our partners to ensure those affected get the support, reassurance and advice they need.’
