A MAN has been jailed for assaulting a woman.

Shane Wright, 29, of Palk Road, Havant, was jailed for 14 weeks after being found guilty of assault by beating on June 2.

Fareham magistrates jailed him for seven weeks for the offence at a hearing last month.

He must pay a £115 victim surcharge and £650 prosecution costs.

Magistrates imposed a 14-week term for breaching a sentence for driving while disqualified.

A restraining order bans him from contacting the victim for a year.
