LAPTOPS are among the items stolen from a Portsmouth home while a couple were away celebrating Christmas.

Police are appealing for witnesses and information after the naval couple’s house was burgled.

The burglary happened in Gurnard Road, Cosham, Portsmouth, between 9am on Sunday, December 23, and 8.45pm on Saturday, December 29. Thieves approached the back kitchen door via the back garden and used a tool to smash the door panel.

Missing items include 18-carat gold and silver St Christopher medals, a 32GB iPod touch, a Sony VAIO laptop, an HP laptop and an Olympus underwater camera.

Fratton PC David Shaw said: ‘We want to hear from anyone who saw or heard anything unusual in Gurnard Road during the period the couple were away from home.

‘We also want to hear from anyone who has been offered laptops, St Christopher medals or an underwater camera since December 23. We would welcome information about any suspicious vehicles seen in the Cosham area over the Christmas period.’
