BURGLARS have stolen a haul of valuables after smashing a ground floor window.

The criminals forced their way in through a ground floor bathroom window in Newtown Road, Warsash, while the homeowners were out between 11.45am and 2pm last Thursday.

A man’s gold bracelet, a wooden jewellery box, a handmade wooden pencil box with ‘J’ inscribed on it, a leather cuff link box with two sets of cuff links in it featuring the West Buckland School shield and a pair British Legion badges were among the items taken. A black Acer laptop, model 5553G, a black Sony MP3 Walkman and £120 cash were also stolen.

PC Gina Campbell from the priority crime team said: ‘The offenders forced entry to a rear ground floor room during daylight hours.

‘Anyone who may have seen anything suspicious or anyone with any information about the stolen property is urged to contact me.’
