THIEVES stole and crashed a car after threatening the occupants with a piece of glass.

Four men were in the car that was being driven along Park House Farm Way in Leigh Park.

A pedestrian, who not known to them, flagged down the yellow Seat Leon and as the car stopped, the man opened the door and threatened them with the glass.

The four men got out of the car and the offender, who was joined by a male accomplice, drove off in the car.

The car was driven recklessly through Leigh Park, hitting several cars. It was driven back to Park House Farm Way, where it crashed into a tree at about 10.30pm on Boxing Day.

The two offenders ran away.

Detective Constable Jamie Fagan said: ‘The offenders are believed to have been drinking or under the influence of drugs.’

The first offender was about 6ft tall, white, of stocky build, with short cropped hair, aged between 20 and 25 years old, and spoke with a local accent.

The other man was between 5ft 6in and 5ft 9in tall, white, of slim build, short styled hair, and aged between 18 and 20 years old.
