Serial killer Peter Tobin has suffered facial injuries after being slashed in prison.
Tobin, who lived in Southsea and Leigh Park, is serving three life sentences for killing Vicky Hamilton, 15, Dinah McCol, 18, and Angelika Kluk, 23.
The jailed killer was attacked in Saughton prison in Edinburgh yesterday morning, the Mirror has reported.
Michael Hamilton, Vicky’s father, said he had no sympathy for Tobin, who is expected to need plastic surgery for facial wounds, the report said.
Michael learned of the attack on Tobin on his 65th birthday.
He told the Daily Record: ‘This has made my birthday because I want that evil monster to know what a knife feels like after what he did to my daughter.
‘It helps me to know that he is enjoying his time in prison and that he is going to die there. I hope the cut is a good one.
‘Nothing will bring my daughter back but every attack on Tobin takes him a bit closer to real justice.’
Tobin has been set upon several times since being jailed.
A spokeswoman for the Scottish Prison Service confirmed an investigation has been launched into the attack.
She said: ‘We are aware of an incident that took place at HMP Edinburgh.’
