Knife-point shop robber threatens staff in Havant

A ROBBER grabbed and pushed a man to the ground after threatening workers with a knife.

The masked robber burst into Elly’s, in Park Parade, Havant, at 9.45pm on Saturday.

He grabbed and pushed a 39-year-old man before stealing between £40 and £50 from an area near the till.

The victim and another worker, a 29-year-old woman, were unhurt but left shaken, police said.

Detective Constable Owen Woods from Fratton CID said: ‘Thankfully the staff members were uninjured, but they were left shocked and shaken by their ordeal.

‘Incidents such as these are rare, but we urge retailers in the area to remain vigilant and review their safety measures.’

Police said the white man, who was believed to have a knife, was between 25 and 30, approximately 5ft 10ins tall and slim.

He was wearing black trousers, a black hooded coat with the hood pulled over his head, another garment covering his face and white fabric gloves.
