Lawyer up for major award

A PROSECUTOR has been short-listed for a prestigious award.

Simon Jones, a solicitor-advocate who prosecutes in Portsmouth, has been named in the Law Society annual awards.

He is short-listed in the solicitor advocate category.

Law Society president Robert Bourns said: ‘This 10th anniversary year of celebrating excellence in the profession is a testament to the hard work of our members, and of their sustained contribution, not only to our clients but to society as a whole.’

He added: ‘The awards showcase the excellent work and dedication of the profession to our clients.’

The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony hosted by BBC Radio 4 Today programme presenter Mishal Husain on October 20.
