Leigh Park murder: Accused Kevin Batchelor due to appear at Winchester Crown Court

Kevin Batchelor, 25, of East Hill, Camborne, Cornwall, appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court charged with murder and causing grievous bodily harm with intent after reports of a disturbance at a property in Tichborne Grove, Leigh Park, at 11pm on Saturday.
George Allison, 21, from Riders Lane, in Leigh Park, died of a fatal stab wound during the incident while a 27-year-old woman from Southsea also suffered serious injuries.

Hide AdBatchelor did not enter any pleas during his hearing before magistrates today but will now appear at Winchester Crown Court on May 28 via videolink after his case was sent for trial.
A 33-year-old woman from Havant who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has been questioned by officers and released under investigation.
A 31-year-old man from Hayling Island arrested on suspicion of murder, and assisting an offender has been questioned by officers.
He will face no further action over murder. He remains under investigation for assisting an offender.
The stabbing sparked shock in the community.
