PEOPLE are being warned to lock their windows and doors after burglars have taken advantage of unlocked homes during the recent hot weather.

On Friday between 3pm and 8pm, a black leather wallet containing bank cards, and a black leather handbag containing purse, cash and bank cards, were stolen from a home while the owners were in the back garden,

On Thursday, July 18 between 9.30am and 6pm, a 3D Samsung TV with a 40in screen was stolen from an address in Brockhurst Road, Gosport.

It’s believed the burglar was able to get in through an open window.

On Tuesday, July 16 at around 9.30pm in Gorselands Way in Gosport, an attempted burglary was disturbed when a householder heard someone trying to open an unlocked front door.

Three other burglaries in sheds have been reported in the same road recently.

The burglaries are not being linked, but police are reminding householders to take home 
security precautions in the hot weather.
