DRINK-driver Olaf Boettcher has been banned from getting behind the wheel.

He admitted driving a BMW on the M27 westbound at Fareham after drinking too much alcohol on May 21.

A test revealed his breath contained 66 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35mg.

The 26-year-old, of Locks Road, Locks Heath, was fined £250 and told to pay £15 into a fund for victims of crime and £85 costs by Fareham magistrates. Boettcher was banned from driving for 16 months.

The ban could be reduced by four months if he pays to complete a government-approved driving course by April 2012.
