A LORRY driver has been fined £364 after crashing into a car on the M27.

William Samuel, 34, was driving a HGV when he failed to see stationary traffic at junction 11 westbound for Fareham.

He crashed his MAN articulated lorry into the back of the vehicle immediately in front of him.

Portsmouth magistrates imposed four points on his driving licence.

Samuel, of Westwood Road, Sittingbourne, must pay a £36 victim surcharge and £300 costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.

He had denied driving without due care and attention but changed his plea to guilty.

Samuel crashed on May 10 this year.

A second charge related to the load of pallets of bricks on the vehicle was dismissed after prosecutors offered no evidence.
