Magistrates ban stalker from contacting victims

A STALKER who distressed a man and woman for more than a month avoided prison.

Perry Cowlin, 29, of Copsey Grove, Drayton, admitted two charges of stalking causing serious alarm or distress between June 24 and August 1.

He also admitted threatening, abusive insulting words or behaviour causing harassment, alarm or distress.

He was handed a 12-week jail term suspended for a year. He must complete 20 days of rehabilitation.

A restraining order bans him from contacting the two victims for a year.
