SERIAL thief Christian Darvill has been jailed.

The 27-year-old, from Waverley Road, Southsea, admitted stealing baby milk worth £9.54 from a Southern Co-operatives store in Sultan Road, Buckland, Portsmouth, on May 23.

Darvill pleaded guilty to stealing cheese from a Co-op store in Tangier Road, Copnor, on May 29 while on bail.

And he admitted a further charge of failing to surrender to custody on June 7.

Darvill, who has 19 previous cases of failing to surrender and 24 previous convictions for theft, was sentenced to 63 days in prison by Portsmouth magistrates.
