MAGISTRATES have fined a man for possessing cannabis.

Samuel Purkiss, from Meon Road, Southsea, had the class B drug on him in Southsea on March 6.

The 22-year-old was given a nine-month conditional discharge.

Purkiss was ordered to pay £15 to a fund for victims of crime by Portsmouth magistrates.

He must also pay £85 in court costs.

An order was made for the cannabis to be forfeited and destroyed.
