A MAN who admitted sending an offensive text message has been put under supervision.

Benjamin Palmer, from Alhambra Road, Southsea, also pleaded guilty to a charge of using threatening words or behaviour in Osborne Road, Southsea.

Palmer was told to take part in nine sessions to address his offending behaviour.

He was ordered to undergo six months of treatment for his alcohol problem.

The 37-year-old will have nine months of supervision from the probation service to help him stay out of trouble.

Palmer was also ordered to pay a total of £145 by Portsmouth magistrates.
