Man, 46, hit by car while walking on crossing in Havant

A MAN is in hospital with a fractured spine after being hit by a car in Havant.

The 46-year-old's serious injuries also include lacerations to his right lung and cuts to the back of his head. He is at Queen Alexandra Hospital.

Police are investigating the crash which happened on Thursday night.

The victim was using a pedestrian crossing on the Asda roundabout, on Purbrook Way, at 10.25pm when he was hit by the blue pick-up truck travelling from Hulbert Road.

Officers want to speak to the driver of the truck who stopped briefly at the scene.

He is white, in his 30s, stocky, had mousey brown hair and possibly a goatee-style beard. He was wearing a black T-shirt. 

Police also want any dash-cam footage from vehicles that may have captured the incident.
