THIEF Jay McKnight has been ordered to stay in at night after admitting stealing cheese.

He pleaded guilty to stealing six packets of cheese from the One Stop shop in Chichester Road, North End, Portsmouth, on January 13.

The 29-year-old, of Agincourt Road, North End, Portsmouth, was given a community order stating that he must not leave his home between 7pm and 7am for four weeks by Portsmouth magistrates.

McKnight was ordered to pay £23.94 compensation to the store.

And he must pay £50 in court costs.
