SHOPLIFTER Martin Coleman has been told to pay compensation.

He pleaded guilty to stealing alcohol from the Co-op in Forton Road, Gosport, on January 20.

The 23-year-old, from Parham Road, Gosport, also admitted having class B drug cannabis on him on the same day.

Coleman was given a 12-month conditional discharge by Fareham magistrates.

He was told to pay £8.74 in compensation to the store and £50 in court costs.

An order was made for the drugs to be destroyed.
