LAGER thief Thomas Ovenden has been told to do unpaid work.

Ovenden, 21, of no fixed abode, admitted stealing 15 cans of lager from a One-Stop store in Havant on September 25.

He also admitted stealing eight cans of Tennants lager from Londis in The Green, Rowlands Castle on October 2.

Ovenden admitted assaulting an officer at Waterlooville police station on October 23 and committing the offences while subject to a community order. He was told to pay £50 compensation. Ovenden must do 69 hours of unpaid work, was put under supervision for a year and told to take part in eight alcohol activity sessions by Portsmouth magistrates.
