SHOPLIFTER John Hill has been given a suspended sentence.

Hill admitted stealing food, drink and nappies from Tesco in High Street, Cosham, Portsmouth, on January 27.

The 46-year-old, of Colesbourne Road, Paulsgrove, Portsmouth, was sentenced to six weeks in jail suspended for six months by Portsmouth magistrates.

Hill was told not to leave his home between 7pm and 6am for three months and told to pay £85 in court costs.
