A MAN and woman were left with cuts and bruises after being attacked in their home during a violent burglary.

Police are investigating the raid at a home in Eastern Road, Portsmouth, near the ambulance station.

A 25-year-old woman reported that she answered the door to three men who were wearing dark clothing and had their faces covered.

She was assaulted along with a 47-year-old man. Both were treated for cuts and bruises. Among the property stolen were two mobile phones.

Officers are treating this as an isolated incident and say there is no wider risk to the community.

The incident happened on Thursday, September 25 at just after 9.30pm.
