A MAN has been arrested after making death threats to a woman who was standing at a bus stop.

Police say the man approached the woman, who was at the bus stop opposite the Iceland store,in Edinburgh Road, Landport. The offender shouted at her and made threats towards her. The victim then got on board the number 21 service.

Hampshire Police today appealed for information about the incident which took place at around 2.45pm on Wednesday, April 20.

PC Paul Shutler from Portsmouth’s Targeted Patrol team, said: ‘This incident occurred very near to the number 21 bus leaving from outside Iceland.

‘The victim boarded the bus and was spoken to by several passengers. Were you one of these people? Did you hear any comments made toward the female? Were you at the bus stop at this time?’

A 38-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill.

He was been released on bail until May 19, pending further enquiries.
