A MAN has been arrested over an alleged machete attack in Portsmouth.

The incident happened in Sultan Road, Buckland, on Friday night.

A 24-year-old man from Portsmouth was arrested today on suspicion of wounding with intent.

He is in police custody for questioning.

As previously reported, the victim – who was named locally as Freddie Field – has been released from hospital.

Police say they are treating the case as a targeted attack and do not think there is a risk to anyone else.
