A MAN has needed hospital treatment after an attack.

The victim, a 27-year-old man, was walking with another man along New Road in Buckland, Portsmouth, at about 1am on Saturday.

As they turned into Ernest Road, the suspect approached them and assaulted the victim, stealing his white IPhone 4S.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment for a suspected broken jaw.

The suspect is described as a white man, in his late 20s, about 6ft, of stocky build with short dark hair. He wore a blue puffa-style jacket and jeans and carrying what appeared to be a rolled up white duvet under his arm.

Detective Sergeant Darren Thomas from Fratton CID said: ‘Violence will not be tolerated on the streets of Portsmouth.’
