Man banned from calling insurer's pet advice line

A MAN has been banned from calling an insurer's pet advice phoneline.

Hamish Stewart appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court and admitted making an indecent or grossly offensive message for the purpose of causing distress or anxiety to a woman between August 30 and October 10 last year.

The 45-year-old of Omega Street, Somers Town, has previous similar offences.

Magistrates imposed a restraining order banning him from calling the More Than Pet Advice Line for a year after he was convicted.

He must pay £100 compensation. Stewart must also pay £50 prosecution costs and an £80 victim surcharge.

He must complete 18 months of supervision.

And he must also complete 50 days of rehabilitation activities.

He has 14 days to pay the cash.
