AN ALLEGED drink driver is set to appear in court after a car crashed through a fence at Chichester Marina and into a field.

Sussex Police have charged a Surrey man after the incident on Sunday. Richard Pooles, 59, of Lauderdale Drive, Richmond, was charged with drink-driving and released on bail to appear at Crawley Magistrates’ Court on January 8.

He was arrested as part of Operation Dragonfly, the force’s anti-drink-driving campaign. People in Sussex can text officers on 65999 with the details of people they suspect of drink or drug driving.
