A MAN has been cleared of sexually assaulting a child.
Jonathon Oldland was accused of repeatedly abusing the girl - who was under the age of 10 years old - between 2002 and 2004.
The 29-year-old denied the allegations from the beginning.
Mr Oldland, who is married, was arrested in January after the girl told a schoolfriend about what she claimed happened. The girl’s friend then told a teacher and the police were called.
The child claimed Mr Oldland had repeatedly assaulted her and threatened to hurt her if she ever told anyone.
Mr Oldland, of Mill Road, Portsmouth, went on trial at Portsmouth Crown Court accused of multiple incident counts of attempted rape, indecent assault and indecency with a child.
The jury of seven men and five women found him not guilty of all the charges.
