AN ELDERLY couple lost jewellery and £300 in a distraction burglary.

A man went to their home in Anns Hill Road, in Gosport on Tuesday, August 20.

He asked if they had anything to sell and talked his way into their home, distracting them, between 10.30am and 11.30am.

After he left the couple found jewellery and £300 in cash had been stolen.

Investigating officer PC Heather Tack said: ‘This is a despicable crime where vulnerable members of the community have been targeted.

‘We’re appealing for any witnesses who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area of Anns Hill Road on Tuesday morning.

‘Have you had any cold callers? Do you have the details of anyone who has called at your address asking to buy gold or jewellery?’
