Man in court accused of attempting to murder woman in North End stab attack

A MAN has appeared in court charged with attempted murder after a woman was stabbed in North End.

Dler Mohammed, 42, of no fixed address, appeared via video-link at Portsmouth Crown Court.

No plea was entered during the brief hearing.

Adjourning the case, judge Roger Hetherington said: ‘I’m adjourning the hearing to the 16th of September.’

Addressing Mohammed, he added: ‘Meanwhile you will be remanded in custody.’

It comes after a woman was reportedly stabbed in London Road, North End, on July 9.

A second man, 41, from Portsmouth, who was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder was released without charge and faces no further action.
